I knew it was inevitable and that it was only a matter of time. Well, here it is: The Sarah Palin Gangsta Rap.

Performed by Heather Anne Campbell as Palin, this video has the Alaska governor and Republican VP rapping about her qualifications for the Vice Presidency of the United States of America. I think this is some funny shit! (Gotta curse a little to sound tragically (or comically)hip and get into the whole gangsta thang)! But I must warn you that the song contains strong language(gasp! nah..really?) so parental neglect is advised. What? Just listen to the thing!

The satire is not exactly gentle with or complimentary of Governor Palin so if you are offended by this in any way, shape or form, feel free to leave a few scathing insults via the comment section. The high tech stuff is fine but in my opinion, CNN and the network channels covering the primaries are just overdoing it! Don't get me wrong. I understand that all that "expert" analysis and all the gadgetry and space-age stuff is intended to offer a more thorough dissection of the whole process. But in trying to explain what's going on to the viewers, the so-called experts and pundits sometimes crank out pure, unadulterated jibberish. Overdone hogwash. Numbers and estimates only understood by some secret society of political pundits.And all the techno stuff--flying 3-D pie charts, color-coded graphics, multi-screen set-ups --that looks like the holo deck of the Enterprise. Its the 21st century and I am aware of that most days. But I still think they are going overboard. To me, there is definitely beauty in simplicity. Simplicity dammit!

On Saturday, in a cold, steady rain, voters turned out for the Republican primary. Nearly all of them -- close to 100 percent -- were white. At a dinner here Saturday night, I was reminded ruefully by one of the guests: "It used to be the Democratic Party that was the white man's party in South Carolina. Now it's the GOP. The black people vote next Saturday."

They still honor Benjamin Tillman down here, which is very much like honoring a malignant tumor. A statue of Tillman, who was known as Pitchfork Ben, is on prominent display outside the statehouse.

Tillman served as governor and US senator in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A mortal enemy of black people, he bragged that he and his followers had disenfranchised "as many as we could," and he publicly defended the murder of blacks.
