Jon Bon Jovi Sings in Farsi in Support of Iran Protests

Reuters: A new version of Ben E. King's "Stand By Me" featuring Jon Bon Jovi dueting in Farsi with exiled Iranian singer Andy Madadian, is making the rounds as an online video.

The track's co-producer, Don Was, says the video is meant to send "a musical message of worldwide solidarity" to the Iranian people in the aftermath of the country's recent disputed election.

Was tells Billboard.com that the session, which took place last Wednesday in Los Angeles, was spurred by a conversation he had with Madadian about "whether there was something we could do just to send out a little message of solidarity, remembering the '60s, believing music can change things.

Farrah Fawcett, 1947-2009

Farrah Fawcett, the Texas-born actress and sex symbol who shot to fame as one of “Charlie’s Angels” and later earned acclaim in serious roles including telepic “The Burning Bed,” died at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica, Calif., of cancer at the age of 62.

The latest in the string are some provocative snaps taken by film maker Adam Shankman, who is producing the Hannah Montana star's new film The Last Song. In the photos, Miley is captured in very sexy and suggestive poses straddling a chair and sidling up to the openly gay producer Alan Shankman. The photos were posted on Twitter by a yet to be identified person.

All these amazing pictures were created on Apple iPhones, drawn using the artists' fingers on screens no more than 3.5 inches wide. To create your own mobile masterpiece, you simply select the shade and size of brush-stroke you want by touching the screen, then paint by dragging your finger across it.

The application has become so popular some people are now planning to exhibit and even sell their digitally-created work. There is an active Brushes community on the photo-sharing website Flickr.

Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway in Tim Burton's Surrealist "Alice in Wonderland"

Johnny Depp may be one of the most desirable men in Hollywood, but he looks far from handsome in his latest film role.

In place of his light golden tan and dark brown hair, Depp is unrecognizable with his curly orange hair, pasty skin and pink make-up as she plays the ghoulish-looking Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's upcoming adaptation of Alice In Wonderland.

The 46-year-old actor joins Anne Hathaway, Matt Lucas, Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry and Helena Bonham Carter in the eagerly-anticipated movie.

Relative unknown Mia Wasikowska, 19, from Australia, will be playing Alice, who is much older in the film than in CS Carroll's classic.

Seventeen-year-old Alice struggles to fit into Victorian society and is about to be proposed to in front of hundreds of people at a garden party.

She flees the party and spots the White Rabbit (Michael Sheen) and follows him down a hole and into Wonderland.

While film fans will have to wait until March 2010 to see the film, Disney have given them a taste of things to come with the first official glimpse of the cast in their garish costumes.

The look of the film is typical Burton style with Victorian styling and extreme colour contrasts.

As well as being transformed by their costumes, the cast's features have been digitally altered, making them look far removed from their normal selves.

As the tea-drinking, unbirthday-celebrating Mad Hatter, Johnny's eyes are yellow and enlarged.

Producer Richard Zanuck said: 'This character is off his rocker. He is so much fun and so nutty, I can't imagine anyone else doing it.'

Lydia Guevara, Che Guevara's Granddaughter Goes Naked for PETA

The AP says: "The granddaughter of Cuban revolutionary leader Ernesto "Che" Guevara is at the forefront of another revolution — for vegetarianism.

Lydia Guevara poses semi-nude in a PETA campaign that tells viewers to "join the vegetarian revolution," said PETA spokesman Michael McGraw.

The print campaign is expected to debut in October in magazines and posters, McGraw said. It will be launched first in Argentina, where Che Guevara was born, and then internationally. PETA approached the 24-year-old in recent months after finding out she was a vegetarian, McGraw said.

In the ad, Lydia Guevara wears camouflage pants, a red beret, and bandoliers of baby carrots while standing with one fist on her hip and the other outstretched.

"It very much evokes the tag line of the ad, which is 'Join the vegetarian revolution,'" McGraw said. "It's an homage of sorts to her late grandfather."

Che Guevara was a Marxist leader who played a pivotal role in Fidel Castro's rise to power in Cuba. He was executed in Bolivia in 1967.

The ad is PETA's first campaign promoting vegetarianism in South America.

"We say the best way to save animals is not to eat them," McGraw said."

Sacha Waldman is a self taught photographer who hails from South Africa; The New York based photographer never took a photography class. He never shot film. Jumping straight into digital, Waldman just tinkered with his images until he found inspiration. “Experimentation is the main thing,” said Waldman. “You create a look that turns you on….and you move from there.” Between Hip-hop, guns, money, celebrity, chocking and creepy kids, Waldman’s imagery is diverse with interesting sets research ( sometimes it takes him more than a week to create one image) and long time post-production / digital manipulation.

Fergie had recently confessed she was bisexual and had done her experiments with the ladies.

“You’ll like our next video, for I Gotta Feeling, because I have a little girl-on-girl tease section of the video,” The Sun quoted her as saying at the time.

“I met the girls right before we did the scene. They were beautiful. They were hot. One of them was the director’s girlfriend - so he was happy!” she had added.

Is this yet another case of carefully orchestrated faux lesbian scenes to stir an internet mega buzz among the perpetually horny 18-34 demographic? I think so. Madonna has been doing it for like 60 years to great success and so has Britney and many other pop stars. Sex, as we have been informed so many times, does sell very well. Faux lesbian sex between beautiful, half-naked women must sell even better.

Gothic Horror Exhibit: A Retrospective of Tim Burton's Dark Cinema at the Museum of Modern Art

The Museum of Modern Art in New York is hosting a major Tim Burton retrospective later this year. From his early childhood drawings to blockbuster Hollywood projects, such as Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas, MoMa will bring together hundreds of never-before-seen paintings, sculptures and puppets from the artist's own collection... The collection will run from 22 November 2009 until 26 April 2010.

"Tim Burton is a Golden Globe Award-winning American film director, producer, writer and artist. He is famed for his dark and quirky films, such as Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas, which he co-wrote and produced. He is also famous for directing blockbusters including Batman and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Racy Calvin Klein Billboard in NYC Creates Controversy

This Calvin Klein Jeans billboard that was unveiled today in the neighborhood of Soho, NYC, is creating some controversy in the artsy neighborhood and elsewhere. Some people are of the opinion that the huge billboard portraying three half-naked young models getting it on is too provocative and verges on the pornographic.

I'd be very interested in "hearing" other folks' opinion so I put up a poll on the upper left hand side of the blog. Please let me know your honest, dishonest, bullshit opinions.

A week later...Wet and totally inappropriate kisses to all those wonderful people who participated in Lunatica's vital billboard survey. The results were as follows: 1. GOP Official Busted E-mailing Racist Obama Image; Official Sorry She Sent it to the Wrong People

There are many mothersuckers out there who just can't seem to accept the fact that there is a black man--with his black family--in the white house and that this man is the President of the United States. And some of those people who are suffering because we have a black prez seem to be within the ranks of the Republican Party.

The image, which portrays President Obama in the last presidential slot of the image as only a pair of big eyes and all black around him, was mailed out by one Sherri Goforth who is a Tennessee GOP legislative staffer.

Nashville Is Talking reports:

When I asked her if she understood the controversial nature of the photo, Goforth would only say she felt very bad about accidentally sending it to the wrong list. When I gave her a second chance to address the controversial nature of the email, she again repeated that she only felt bad about sending it to the wrong list of people.

“I went on the wrong email and I inadvertently hit the wrong button,” Goforth told NIT. “I’m very sick about it, and it’s one of those things I can’t change or take back.”

WTF? The man will be there for at least three and a half more years and four more are entirely possible if the GOP can't keep it's asinine racist bullshit under wraps. Deal with it MOFOS!

"Banksy Versus Bristol Museum": Guerilla Art Exhibit in a Burned Out Ice Cream Van

Underground guerrilla artist Banksy put on an exhibit at the Bristol's City Museum and Art Gallery. Always looking to showcase and reaffirm his well-crafted reputation as a subversive artist, Banksy has installed his work at the Bristol's City Museum inside a giant burned out ice cream van.

The Telegraph.co.UK newspaper states, "The van, which sits under a giant melted cone, appears alongside dozens of sculptures, oil paintings and his trademark stencils.

The exhibition, called Banksy versus Bristol Museum, consists of more than 100 items, including a sculpture of a riot police officer astride a child's rocking horse and a moving display featuring chicks as chicken nuggets.

An original Damien Hirst painting has a giant stencil of a rat painted over it and part of Banksy's "Bog Henge" - an imitation of the Stonehenge circle made from portable toilets from the Glastonbury Festival - also appears.

A collapsed brick wall lies across the atrium's floor beneath dozens of stencilled subversive satirical and political messages."

Banned! 18 Shocking Ads that Crossed the Line

These are "banned" print ads from all over the world that were not supposed to see the light of day because they were deemed too racy, violent, religiously offensive or just plain weird.

Some random descriptions: In image #17, high fashion is duly represented by Dolce and Gabbana's scandalously violent mob of beautiful, fashion-conscious young men (plus a naked chick) brandishing guns and knives. There's also the well-known D&G-spawned ad (#18) where a group of young men watch impassively as a half naked dude pins a chick down to the ground in what has been variously described as a "mob rape". We also have the weird and down right creepy "beauty to die for" ad leading the gallery of the absurd; former English PM Tony Blair bar code mustache at #4; the S&M duck which is second in the gallery(I'm sorry but that one is funny!); the Smint sex doll on #13 and plenty more images to be (hopefully) offended by.

American photographer Thomas Allen constructs witty and clever dioramas using figures cut from the covers of old pulp paperbacks. Fantastic! Pras's Uncommon Anamorphic Sculptures Made Out Of Everyday Objects

This is the work of an artist named Pras. He makes unusual but pretty funky sculptures out of "recovered objects" which to me, sometimes, is a PC terminology for garbage.

"Pras conceived in 1997, an astonishing form of expression, using photography as a basis for the creation of what amounts to a form of installation art.

Pras’s work does not illustrate the painter’s art but the way the eye views an object. In fact, brush and paint are replaced by the object itself.

By anamorphosis he creates a picture in relief and gives birth to portraits by randomly accumulating common objects.

Pras sets up his camera at a well-defined angle so that the objects themselves merge and a portrait appears from this bric-à-brac - the work of art is accomplished !
The photograph is the only remaining trace of this ephemeral work."

Actress Scarlett Johansson has announced an album of duets, to be released in September. This record, entitled Break Up, was mostly written by American singer-songwriter Pete Yorn.

Yorn and Johansson sing together on each of Break Up's nine tracks, offering a musical account of the beginning, middle and end of a tormented love-affair inspired by Brigitte Bardot's work with Serge Gainsbourg.

Outrageous actor Sacha Baron Cohen has been promoting his upcoming film Bruno with real over-the-top-stunts and the one he performed tonight at the MTV 2009 awards was perhaps one of the wildest and most hilarious. "In character as flamboyant fashion reporter "Bruno," says The Associated Press, "Baron Cohen flew in above Sunday's award show audience on a wire — and in a pair of feathery white wings and his rear end mostly exposed.

But the comedian crashed into an overhead obstacle, and he was lowered into the audience — right into Eminem's lap, his bare hindquarters in the rapper's face.

Eminem seemed visibly upset at the mishap. Or was it a joke he was in on?"

Whether Eminem was in on the joke or not is a matter for much debate right now. Bottom line is, the rapper had Bruno's ass on his face well within smelling distance. Ew. That's no way to do Slim Shady. LOL.
