Scary, Creepy and Amazing Quadrupedal Robot Called Big Dog
"This new video of "Big Dog," the amazing quadrupedal robot from Boston Dynamics, shows of its latest tricks: the ability to walk through snow and even over ice, catching itself when it slips and falls. Its normal gait is unnatural, but when it starts to scramble to recover it looks eerily real" says Boing Boing.
This shit is really, really creepy people. Don't say that I did not warn you.

Gorgeous and Impressive South Korea Waterfalls

Check out this gorgeous waterfalls that were installed recently in the Banpo River in Seoul South Korea. The 10,000 nozzle fountains built several feet apart on both sides of the Banpo bridge spurt out jets of water that periodically change color, turning the installation into a really attractive water rainbow. The installation pumps out 190 tons of water per minute, sourced from the Banpo River below so that no potable water is wasted.

Robotic Mirrors that Talk and Follow People Around
Chris O’Shea in collaboration with Random International conceived and built this robotic mirror installation of 64 mirrors called “Audience”.
The mirrors follow people around that they find interesting allowing for their target to see their reflection in all 64 of the mirrors.
When the mirrors get bored, they go back to chatting and mingling among themselves but when someone else approaches, they stop talking and mingling and go back to staring at the person. This shit is creepy.

A Beautiful Reinterpretation of the 'Wizard of Oz'
Graham Rawle’s is a writer who has written a modern version the “The Wizard of Oz”. In his version Rawles introduces new characters to the tale.
After the original book was released, The Wizard of Oz was turned into a much-celebrated movie starring Judy Garland and later, a musical called “The Wiz” starring Michael Jackson and Diana Ross.
On the gallery, you can see the Flying Monkeys, The Cowardly Lion and a really wicked depiction of the Witch. The video is absolutely beautiful.

Parodies of Magazine Covers-Jolie, Madonna, Miley, and Beckham
Gallery of the Absurd likes to parody magazine covers and images of celebrities. The artist name is Fourteen like the number and she says about her work:
"I am not painting their portraits...I paint only the gossip, buzz, chatter and brand image the particular celebrity projects or attracts. I seek to capture a peculiar segment of modern pop-culture mythology as it unfolds before our eyes. For this reason, I would hope the celebrity would not be angered..."
In the galley you will see Angelina Jolie's much talked about recent W Magazine cover where she's seen breasfeeding her babies. There is also the Miley Cyrus infamous Vanity Fair spread that caused so much controversy a few months ago. Madonna is there with her son David Banda. And there's also a spoof of Madonna's heavily photoshopped Out Magazine cover.

The Regal Twelve is a series of jaw-dropping portraits created by Australian digital artist Alexia Sinclair of some of the most powerful and influential women in history.
Among those women are Queen Elizabeth I of England who is depicted in all her regal glory. The guillotined Queen of France Marie Antoinette is showcased surrounded by all the pomp and circumstance and decadence of pre-revolutionary France and the tragic Queen Cleopatra of Egypt is displayed surrounded by snakes.
Queen Elizabeth I
Marie Antoinette (The Extravagant Queen)
Cleopatra (The Seductress)
Alexandra Romanov (The Last Czarina)
Catherine the Great (The Enlightened Empress)
Elizabeth Bathory (The Countess of Blood)
Christina of Sweden (The Androgynous Queen)
Olympias (The Sorcerous)
Eleanor of Aquitaine (The Eagle)
Agrippina (The Poisoness)
Boudica (The Celtic Queen)
Isabella of Spain (The Catholic)
I fell in love with this fantastic work the minute I saw it.

Beatles and Andy Warhol Designer Alan Aldridge and his Famous Kaleidoscopic Work
This images are from an exbibit by British graphic designer Alan Aldridge at the Desigm Museum in London.
"It is the first UK retrospective featuring illustrations and graphic design works by Aldridge, who was one of the key graphic designers of the sixties and seventies and who worked extensively with The Beatles" says Dezeen. They further say that, "Alan Aldridge embodied the spirit of the 60s and 70s. His evocative, psychedelic images epitomised the feeling and art of an era. As The Beatles lead an unstoppable assault on the global charts, it was Aldridge’s designs and visual identity that defined The Beatles image and music in a changing world."
You can also see some of the artwork for Yellow Submarine. The first image in the gallery was done for Andy Warhol's film poster "Chelsea Girls"
Alan Aldridge - The Man with Kaleidoscope Eyes runs from 10 October 2008 – 25 January 2009.

Fantastic Interactive and Dynamic Illustrations
These amazing interactive illustrations were done by design studio Macacolandia. I just love their dynamism and how they manage to engage the viewers. Pencils, paintbrush and no doubt, something like Photoshop were used in this work. Nevertheless, these beautiful drawings are wonderful renditions which required mad skills!

Banksy's Latest Really Weird Work - The Village Pet Store and Charcoal Grill
This is the Village Pet Store and Charcoal Grill that opened 4 days ago in New York City. However, there are no pets and no charcoal grill in here. Instead, what looks like a live leopard quietly lounges atop a tree branch, two McDonald Chicken MacNuggets sip barbecue sauce, a rabbit is putting on make-up in front of mirror and a CCTV camera takes care of her "offspring" and so on. Sounds crazy? The store which is open to the public everyday from 10 am until midnight, is the latest prank or--art installation if you prefer-- by the elusive British street artist Banksy. The "Pet Store" which will be open until Halloween day on October 31, is located at 89 7th Avenue between West 4th and Bleeker Street in the West Village.

Liu Bolin's Fantastic Camouflage Photography
This is the work of Chinese artist Liu Bolin. Bolin paints his subjects so that they merge with their immediate surroundings and become almost invisible to the naked eye. He then photographs the resulting camouflaged scenes. Incredible work. This is similar to the amazing work of Dutch photographer Desiree Palmen whom Lunatica did a feature on some time ago.

Defacing Icons - D*face Rips Marilyn, Lennon, Cobain, El Che, The Queen of England
D*face is a street graffiti artist from Britain who also does indoor shows. As you can see D*face likes to deface in a bit of a morbid way, images of people or symbols revered as pop culture icons or ideological icons such as Andy Warhol's famous renditions of Marilyn Monroe. D*face also worked on images of John Lennon, Nirvana's tragic frontman Kurt Cobain, The Queen of England, Che Guevara, Superman, Saddam Hussein, the American dollar and the Statue of Liberty.
